Memory 20-something
Since this is a headcanon, I figure I'll do an actual write up:
This is a headcanon memory! It takes place when Yuri and Flynn are about eight or nine. It was never said whether or not Yuri and Flynn were in an orphanage (to my knowledge) so I assume they were street kids, with the inhabitants of the lower quarter keeping a loose eye on them and tossing them small jobs so they could keep themselves fed.
The memory starts off with Yuri hungry and in a noble hating mood; he decides he’s had enough and breaks into a noble’s house. It’s tea time, so he makes off with a ton of snacks. He tracks Flynn down to share but once Flynn finds out they’re stolen, he demands they return them. Yuri grudgingly goes along with this. They head back to the Upper Quarter, getting some flack from the noble NPCs who like to stand around and hate on people, and they arrive at the nobles house where the noble recognizes Yuri as the snack culprit. He wails on both of them a bit with his cane because he is noble and has a cane for some reason, and also calls for the knights! Yuri wants to run and tries to drag Flynn away, but Flynn won’t leave, and of course Yuri won’t leave Flynn.
They get tossed into jail and of course Yuri is still hungry and it’s cold and unpleasant. He and Flynn get into an argument because Yuri thinks it is STUPID they didn’t run away, but Flynn ends up justice topping him because he’s Flynn Scifo and they wind up making a promise that sounds something like this.
Whoops this actually ended up kind of a sig... LOTS OF FEELINGS. Tiny Yuri is very very angry and desperate and aimless and WHY CAN'T I PROTECT FLYNN, WHY CAN'T I JUST GET SOME FOOD, WHY ARE THINGS LIKE THIS AND WHY CAN'T A CHANGE THEM. +100 feeling of frustration but also +80 resolve to plow through it.
