Well he is a lot more opaque with other people I think (See Lloyd's comment). It'd be more accurate to say he doesn't really EXPRESS a lot of deep/real feelings with other people. So yeah, without Vincent (or rather, with people not Vincent) he would not outwardly express many personal feelings.
