Our last few threads have basically just been +affection for Raven. A lot. For a long while Yuri just was not sure what to DO with Raven; especially that one thread where Raven just issue'd all over him and Yuri FAILED at protagging because he was just so perplexed as to why they were even issues! But now he has a better grasp on how Raven operates, so he also has a better idea of how to act around him: The old man is for teasing. :D He is going to do this and lay off serious issues for a while. Because feelings are balls and Raven is hilarious when he's flustered.

Mostly... hilarious. It is not a particular turn-on for him (few things are) but he would definitely not mind seeing some people (Vincent!!11! or really any of the boys...) in a dress and would wear one himself in good humor.

Yuri's main problem is basically he just KEEPS. GETTING. terrible memories. So he has nothing but the negative experiences in his old life and his sense of purposelessness here to go off of while he's struggling to BE an effective person. He IS starting to become more grounded (due in part to Vincent) but it's happening on the wrooong side of personality where he is more sarcastic and deceptive with other people and repressive of himself as opposed to the YURI LOWELL PUNCHING PEOPLE IN THE FACE WITH FEELINGS AND BEING BLUNT side (basically: early game v. late game development). And that means he is more oriented toward his beginning-game personality where he was a petty criminal and saw himself as a trouble-making kid throwing stones at the huge Empire.

What is your favorite kind of team dynamic in amnesiagames?

Aeris and Yuri need to thread because Yuri believes in Aeris' goals... also Nightray gossip.

How is Citrine doing!

Well Citrine is my only team and Aather is my only amnesia game so... bias. I love Citrine to pieces and how we can flip flop from playful to killing shit but regardless of which we choose we are a GETTING SHIT DONE team. Citrine has had a couple of rough spots in terms of internal conflict but my favorite is when we are a working machine (of death). I especially like that we're not super co-dependent but we are dependent enough to not be afraid or embarrassed to ask each other for help.

Yuri is SO IMPORTANT to him. He doesn't really know what to do with how important Yuri is to him. This has been the case for a while, but keeps being more the case the more memories he gets back! Particularly with his Zaude memory, where it hit him really hard to think that Yuri could be dead. At the same time he has felt very... disconnected from Yuri in Aather. Yuri is a knight and he has his own things and he is pretty sure he's not as important to Yuri BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE HARD. Plus in Aather he has been a lot more generally oriented towards taking responsibility for things himself rather than leaning on Yuri for support (as party leader / as someone who will punch him when he screws up / the guy who owns him / etc). But he hasn't... really... worked out how to relate to Yuri on those terms?

SO YES being teased/topped is a lot more easy to know what to do with. (Flail.) And it makes him a lot more comfortable with Yuri on that level. ON THE OTHER HAND the idea of Yuri pinning him to a wall was a lot more appealing than he would have preferred it be so now he is sort of... wrestling with that aspect of it. WHICH WOULD BE EASIER IF YURI WOULD QUIT TELLING HIM HE'S ATTRACTIVE.

Memories you're looking forward to getting back at the moment?

We are doing pretty good I think! We hit a couple rough spots but right now we're steady and everyone is getting along swimmingly. Kazu has matured enough to be able to handle the small differences that come up and he is really fond of their newest, Drift, who is basically exactly what he himself needed: someone to fuss over, but independent enough and kick-ass enough to be on Citrine.

Umm talk to me about why Aeris likes putting boys in dresses.

Gosh. I've only had two teams, Peridot and Kunzite, and I've loved them bothhh. Peridot is insane and very inward-focused and full of tension and passionate feelings and codependence, whereas Kunzite is outward-focusing and community-oriented and sunny and ALSO full of secret shank, but in a much more polite, smiley way; I see Peridot as being a little more honest about feelings if only because everyone is so melodramatic they can't keep their shit together enough to hide it, whereas Kunzite is THE OPPOSITE OF THAT :'D not demonstrative of any feelings except CUTE. Peridot was super interesting to be stalker for and Kunzite has been amazing so far! I'd love to be on a team with the mindset of Emerald or Tiger's Eye sometime though — I think of them as the sensible teams where community isn't forgotten but feelings are handled productively and in a team-oriented way. Even if "productively team-centered feelings management" can apparently cover such diverse solutions as "team meetings with subheaders" to "everyone get drunk."

Turquoise because it is full of smart, adorable kids, pretty much. Yuri is not a knight that has a deep connection with a particular team.

Is was seriously just a whim during that Rumpelstiltskin game where he inexplicably dressed people in kilts. Yuri was one of the people, and he just sort of jokingly asked if he could keep the kilt, and then he really liked the quest Rumpel gave him (Cook one meal for each team) so he was like, Sure why not. (He will probably Do Things in the kilt but that wasn't a strong, driving motivation)

ANY CHANGES YURI, AND RELATIONSHIP ON KAZU?

Zelos likes knights in general. Knights are easy! Most of them expect to die horribly for teams and are willing to do that. So he is emotionally prepared to see them suffer and at the same time not feel overly guilty for it! And overall they have all been good guys. So being a knight in general gives Strike points.

But Strike is just alright to be around in general. He's not too stoic but not too cheery. He's not really naive but he's still a person who...has ideals? The whole Three heart game really cemented Zelos' like and trust of Strike. Not in a way he'd expect but in that annoying Tales protag way that Zelos is very weak against.

And he's just fun. They can have dumb chats about nothing but hair. And Zelos doesn't mind it at all. He doesn't chat a lot so any company and any conversation is alright with him. It helps pass the time and feel more normal!

And yeah a little gay for him as is the way with Tales protags. o9
