Our last few threads have basically just been +affection for Raven. A lot. For a long while Yuri just was not sure what to DO with Raven; especially that one thread where Raven just issue'd all over him and Yuri FAILED at protagging because he was just so perplexed as to why they were even issues! But now he has a better grasp on how Raven operates, so he also has a better idea of how to act around him: The old man is for teasing. :D He is going to do this and lay off serious issues for a while. Because feelings are balls and Raven is hilarious when he's flustered.

Yuri is SO IMPORTANT to him. He doesn't really know what to do with how important Yuri is to him. This has been the case for a while, but keeps being more the case the more memories he gets back! Particularly with his Zaude memory, where it hit him really hard to think that Yuri could be dead. At the same time he has felt very... disconnected from Yuri in Aather. Yuri is a knight and he has his own things and he is pretty sure he's not as important to Yuri BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE HARD. Plus in Aather he has been a lot more generally oriented towards taking responsibility for things himself rather than leaning on Yuri for support (as party leader / as someone who will punch him when he screws up / the guy who owns him / etc). But he hasn't... really... worked out how to relate to Yuri on those terms?

SO YES being teased/topped is a lot more easy to know what to do with. (Flail.) And it makes him a lot more comfortable with Yuri on that level. ON THE OTHER HAND the idea of Yuri pinning him to a wall was a lot more appealing than he would have preferred it be so now he is sort of... wrestling with that aspect of it. WHICH WOULD BE EASIER IF YURI WOULD QUIT TELLING HIM HE'S ATTRACTIVE.

Why a kilt bro?

Is was seriously just a whim during that Rumpelstiltskin game where he inexplicably dressed people in kilts. Yuri was one of the people, and he just sort of jokingly asked if he could keep the kilt, and then he really liked the quest Rumpel gave him (Cook one meal for each team) so he was like, Sure why not. (He will probably Do Things in the kilt but that wasn't a strong, driving motivation)

Zelos likes knights in general. Knights are easy! Most of them expect to die horribly for teams and are willing to do that. So he is emotionally prepared to see them suffer and at the same time not feel overly guilty for it! And overall they have all been good guys. So being a knight in general gives Strike points.

But Strike is just alright to be around in general. He's not too stoic but not too cheery. He's not really naive but he's still a person who...has ideals? The whole Three heart game really cemented Zelos' like and trust of Strike. Not in a way he'd expect but in that annoying Tales protag way that Zelos is very weak against.

And he's just fun. They can have dumb chats about nothing but hair. And Zelos doesn't mind it at all. He doesn't chat a lot so any company and any conversation is alright with him. It helps pass the time and feel more normal!

And yeah a little gay for him as is the way with Tales protags. o9

ELLIOT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE AND STOLE YURI'S HEART.

At first he did not understand the Elliotness of Elliot which was why he was like lol we'll adopt but then he realized... Elliot was serious and this was serious business and it was just. The most precious thing?? When Elliot talked to him about how he was changing it was sort of a lightbulb moment for Yuri and he also just... really admired Elliot for being able to DO that and to say it out loud. It's kind of awe-inspiring for someone like Yuri who is always stuck with the dirty work to see someone like Elliot just SAY EXACTLY WHAT HE FEELS ALL THE TIME. In general, Elliot is still a new thing but Yuri thought they worked really well together and he thinks he would actually be pretty proud to be Elliot's brother-in-law.

ELLIOT is both SUPER resistant to change and really capable of just switching his opinion on something in an instant. He's been less able to do that at Aather cuz generally Reo is the one who smacks sense into him, and when that happens he accepts it irrevocably. But it's harder for him to reach all these conclusions himself.

THAT SAID. He had like four people he respects tell him that GAY IS OKAY aaaand Gil came out to him before this, and there is NOTHING ELLIOT WILL NOT DO FOR FAMILY, so he accepted that Gil was gay, which made dealing with it with Vincent a lot easier. It helps that he already approved of Yuri cuz you DID ALL OF THE RIGHT THINGS IN THE HEART and we BONDED AS BROS0 without WORDS!!!

So now he has accepted Yuri as family, though that isn't 100% yet, mostly because Vincent was like I DON'T LOVE HIM, but Yuri's response to that hit home, because Vincent would also never tell Elliot that he loves him \=D/; it's painful for him, it really is, but he trucks on despite it because FAMILY!!! and he does trust Vincent. So he can resonate with Yuri on this 'NO I AM NOT SURE HE LOVES ME BUT I THINK HE MIGHT AND I LOVE HIM SO WHATEV'.

So basically he likes Yuri a lot individually, WILL ACCEPT YOU AS FAMILY, though that is still somewhat 'in transition'. Aaand he will accept Vince and Yuri being TOGETHER because what he want for most is his family's happiness .///.

Weell as I was saying earlier Vincent is becoming very grounding for Yuri, which is good for him! And bad. Let me copy paste this thing from Spitfire's question on what Yuri would have seen in the mirror of Erised:

Thaaaat is hard to say! Yuri's wants are too abstract to really solidify. Foremost, he wants to do the right thing, he wants to be an effective person. It's not as simple as "I want Estelle" or "I want Vincent." At this point especially he is sort of forcing that aloofness of "YOU can stay or go. I'm staying." Because he is really big on personal choice, but there's definitely an element of him forcing himself not to want something for the sake of the other person's space BUT it is equal or lesser to the part of him that is just honestly not very needy and very stable independently.

That is basically where he is right now with Vincent. It's like that moment he has with Estelle where he tells her to choose--go back to the castle or keep traveling with me. And he's casual like her answer doesn't mean anything to him until she says she wants to stay with him and he is stupidly, adorably happy. It's a weird process where as he becomes more attached he forces himself to be less so. Right now Vincent is at party status which, from Yuri, entails a certain amount of possessiveness, though not in a controlling sense. It more means that Vincent would have to try REALLY REALLY REALLY HARD to shake Yuri, now, BUT if he walks, Yuri wouldn't chase him, because that's his choice.

In other news, he is also feeling more relaxed around Vincent, like he CAN let his guard down if he wants to, and Vincent won't use it against him or spurn him. But that doesn't mean he's going to be rushing to do it. And this is also applicable; it's a response to "What are Yuri's feelings on Vin's heartgame"

KIND OF THE SAME WAY. Very 'lol that is very Vincent of you Vincent'. Basically, none of it was really surprising to him, except for maybe that Onyx tower, which kind of pleased him a lot! It's... sort of how he wants Vincent to feel about him: You don't have to tell me anything, but you can if you want, and you can trust me regardless. He is still Unsure about the feeling his flower gave off, but it feels like the right direction.

* lol the flowers ... I debated adding a more "updated" flower in there, because there are other feelings involved with Yuri. But it wasn't something that Vincent would strategically do. Like Peridot had all the dere, and Kyouko got something because he does have a soft spot for her, but Yuri doesn't get the benefit of sappy romance-y feelings. Besides, it's way more complicated than that, haha. \o/

* Yuri is stability when Vincent is unstable, etc. Really, Yuri hasn't knowingly seen Vincent at a complete loss, but Yuri doesn't push him so Vincent gets the space to put his pieces back together with no questions asked. He's still all knotted up in the games and deception of his memories, so he isn't going to be forthright for a very long time. Having a place where there isn't a demand for trust or being open is super awesome, so they end up being pretty damn functional in that sense.

* Pffthahaha, Yuri spotting the knight trend . . . Gosh, it's really . . . Vincent honestly has a thing for the doomed hero. It's all mixed up in canon and his worldview, so I can't narrow it down to just Yuri, buuut . . . He likes seeing them fight the good fight and to keep persisting even when they know they're going to lose! That's cool to him. But he also likes to see them pushed to their absolute limits and what it will take for them to fall. He would probably lose all interest after that point, but he just wants to see people taken to their limit. It's sort of . . . To support and damn himself at the same time. Because, hey, other people couldn't hold their shit together, but it's also nice to have a hero in the story—To know good can come out on top and he just got the very short end of the straw. So, the pissing Yuri off thing, poking his buttons, he definitely wants to see where Yuri's line is drawn if there is one.

* Yuri wants sex way too often for Vincent. Like I find it hilarious how many times Vincent is like YOU ARE KIDDING ME, CALM DOWN. But it's also part of the thing where Vincent doesn't associate sex with anything like being enjoyable, so he can understand that Yuri wants it because he's wired right to an extent. So, his feelings, of which there are little because lol Vincent, on the matter is just . . . Roll with it. I told you before that Vincent saying what he wants will be a big step for him, but that will likely be the first step. No, no, I have a headache, not tonight, no. He doesn't mind Yuri using him to that extent, though. I mean, he can and has pulled the wool over Yuri's eyes before, so him being like STOP DOING THAT was sort of . . . Hilarious for Vincent. Yuri is really such a kind and thoughtful person~. ♥

. . . Go on about that last point I made. Just Yuri on their sex life whatevs. Also, Yuri on just his own. Gosh, he gets around.
