To phrase it from Echo's perspective, she really wants happiness! Of course, that's awfully vague. Happiness for Echo is having peace of mind and independence (loosely speaking, the freedom to live and do as she pleases, because she's actually accepting that it's KIIIND OF ok to be dependent on people who are willing to help and protect her.) With Zwei around, along with what she feels is an overbearing team, Echo definitely feels like she is lacking these things. Her visits to the beach are kind of her escapes!
Another thing she's given thought to making Aather into a pleasant place to live with no drawbacks like TRAUMA GAMES and TERRIBLE THINGS and LIMITATIONS. We only have Selenia to blame because he actually put these ideas into her head, or at least the start of them, because Echo did get carried away when trying to dream up what kind of place it would be. When she first stepped into the world-creating game, she wanted to test her skills by making a 'beautiful world,' which is the basis of the idea between Selenia and herself. Echo DOES realize that this is stupid and unrealistic, but... it's ideal and she likes it. It sounds great. It's like a dream. Selenia has her thinking that taking the Personae's power should be enough to do something about it, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, she potentially has Doldum! Surely Doldum can help accomplish some of this, or at least set them on the right track.
Overall, the life she wants is a peaceful one where she's free and enjoying life the way she's never gotten to before. After all, her life consisted of serving Vincent; girl didn't get out much, and she never thought she'd see places outside the cities at her own leisure.
O-oh Yuri, coping by getting high with Turquoise. How does he feel after that thread with Gilbert?
