Dirk is a very smart adorable philosopher boy whose bad socialization cashes out in his tendency to build robots and send them to his friends so he can stalk them constantly. The main thing you need to know about Dirk is that he LOVES HIS FRIENDS and would do anything for them, including use said robots and other artificial intelligences to harass them into being stronger/more thoughtful people.
Basically his #1 priority at all times is to love and support his friends while also keeping them ALIVE.
