So Yuri has been tsun at Flynn since day one because it's FLYNN. And he has kept being mildly tsun at him for the same reason. Part of this tsun is born out of Yuri's sense of inferiority and uselessness; the feeling that he'll never be a good, effective person the way Flynn can be so easily. But then Flynn so SINCERELY believes in him when he doesn't WANT to be believed in it just backlashes into a FUCK YOU YOU DON'T KNOW MEEEE. Aggravating THAT is how Yuri feels about home in Aather; he loves Zaphias and Terca Lumireis but he was feeling super disconnected form his life there so when Flynn showed up he was pretty resolved to keep well enough a way and hopefully let Flynn's obsession with him work itself out. IT WORKED WITH RAVEN!!

Of course, that didn't happen. And he watched Flynn do his Flynn thing, not only being an effective knight but also changing and growing as he learned new things and then Flynn told him he made commandant and that. It's hard to describe it made him so happy it that it ended up making him kind of sad and that combined with FLynn ~blossoming~ in Aather just cemented the whole "Flynn is doing way better without me I'll just continue to leave him alone".

But that memory basically brought to head how much he LOVES Flynn. He spent three years being lonely and disillusioned and all he really wanted to do was see Flynn but he fucked himself out of it because while Flynn's success was a huge balm to him, it was also a reminder of his own failures.

But the CURRENT LEVEL OF TSUN you are dealing with mostly comes from... embarrassment. He spent all this time being like NOPE WHO WOULD LIKE FLYNN GROSS I SURE DON'T LOVE FLYNN!!! And pushing him away and insisting against it and now that it's happened he is... happy. Even though he doesn't want to admit it. He's happy and he knows Flynn is going to do stupid FLYNN shit to make him happy and it's exasperating and familiar and he knows he's gonna get topped so hard, god DAMMIT.

How does Flynn view the current situation? Does he have any plans or expectations?

Flynn is cautiously optimistic at the moment! The memory he shared really helped solidify a few things and opened his eyes a lot to Yuri's perspective on things which is something he really needed to see. Aather has done a lot to shift how Flynn views his personal goals and methodology so especially with Yuri he was feeling a disparity in his understanding of what he wanted vs. what Yuri wanted. Being shown that yeah, Yuri does sort of push himself and his own wants to the side followed so quickly by the confirmation that yes, Yuri does want him was a huge boon to that effort.

In some ways it hasn't changed things much because Flynn had already made his promise that he would stand by Yuri no matter what. But mostly in addition to that he knows that he does hold the same importance for Yuri even if neither of them are able to place it well. What they have right now is pretty nebulous in Flynn's eyes but he's confident that they'll sort it in their own time.

He is pretty hesitant to put plans or expectations to their relationship because he knows that Yuri does things at his own pace and more than capable anything Flynn wants to respect that. He's probably going to slowly ease and relax into being a bit more playfully teasing of Yuri since most of his experience with relationships is flirting with Dino but he'll allow Yuri to make the moves and he's more than willing to step back if it seems like Yuri's out of his comfort zone or hitting crit tsun levels. Basically he is a dere barnacle stuck to your side now, Yuri.

Dirk is a very smart adorable philosopher boy whose bad socialization cashes out in his tendency to build robots and send them to his friends so he can stalk them constantly. The main thing you need to know about Dirk is that he LOVES HIS FRIENDS and would do anything for them, including use said robots and other artificial intelligences to harass them into being stronger/more thoughtful people.

Basically his #1 priority at all times is to love and support his friends while also keeping them ALIVE. To the latter end, Dirk works tirelessly (he literally does not sleep due to #some canon shit). He also likes drawing porn, being ironic, and having deep philosophical conversations with an artificial intelligence he created to mimic his own brain. He is incredibly thoughtful and sweet.

He is also the AU version of Dave's bro (the guy who raised Dave) so... yeah.

Actually, Yuri's thoughts on Flynn tend to be kind of vanilla because sleeping with Flynn is already kind of a huge thing; he really doesn't need to dress it up any. Once he becomes more comfortable, well is there a part of Yuri that would probably be incredibly turned on by prisoner roleplay?

Flynn and polyamory: how did he come to be okay-ish with it and what ar ehis thought son it?

Mostly kissing games and Dino are to blame for it. Originally Flynn was pretty rigidly standing by monogamy and intimacy only as a thing for couples, kissing included. The games made him pretty uncomfortable in general, especially the first bout of mistletoe. However they definitely helped make him more aware of Aather's culture of polyamory acceptance and how people were generally more lax about those sort of things here. He'd been made pretty aware of how inept he was at relationships and romance by Selenia and Spitfire primarily, so he was definitely feeling the urge to figure it out. Another factor in this was how he was getting a lot of advice that it was okay to kick back and relax in Aather and still be an effective knight.

Now Dino comes into play with this in the sexswap/deage/age up game where Flynn just utterly worked himself up into a frustrated mess over Yuri and Vincent. He knew he needed to calm himself down and he wanted to try to do so in the company of someone he didn't think would judge him or who he felt he would lose esteem or respect with for doing something like hitting the bottle.

So he went to the beach with Dino, drank, and made out with him more than a lot. Dino sort of urged him to take more time to himself and since Flynn was a) getting a little curious about his sexuality and b) in need of some stress relief he decided to seek Dino out for this. He sort of saw Dino as someone experienced in intimacy enough that he wouldn't judge Flynn's inexperience but also someone who didn't seem to necessarily attach romantic value to the act so Flynn didn't have to worry about hurting his feelings. He was aware of the fact that Dino had and was sleeping with other people at the time but it didn't bother him because he wasn't pursuing him for an exclusive sexual relationship.

Now for the actual polyromantic part of it, that came more into play in Chance's kissing bingo game. Though Flynn was much more comfortable with kissing and the idea of casual sex at the time, he still didn't like the thought of kissing games because they didn't necessarily respect everyone's personal boundaries on the matter. In this game it was Lloyd and Mithos who really helped wear that down because Flynn had huge respect crushes on both of them from day one and in the game he realized that he was and they were all right with the idea of kissing and intimacy between friends on something a bit different from the friends with benefits deal he had with Dino.

Flynn kind of falling in love with Dino and how completely charming he is also helped out since he knew that even if he pursued a relationship with Dino, it wouldn't be fair of him to lay an exclusive claim to him.

So all of those combined, along with the conversation that Flynn had with Dino when they hooked up, have left him pretty all right with them having an open relationship. He thinks that polyamory can be pretty great when all parties involved are in open communication and agreement about it.
