It started with Raven, but then in very close proximity Chariot told him something very similar while he tried to brobreakup with him and Yuri FLIPPED a little--mostly because his experience with Raven telling him almost the same thing was really, really negative. So he just kind of decided, fuck it, if it's so important to do then I'll try doing it. It also helps that he is FEELING his emotions a lot more; his moods are a lot more mercurial and he is not repressing every bad emotion that comes his way. It's very dissonant and strange for him and he doesn't LIKE IT but he is aware that he is changing as a person and is trying his best to go with it even though the process is unpleasant.
Relationship meme? Does Mithos think Yuri is changing/has changed? What did he think the last serious talk they had, where Yuri admitted he was tired of Personae etc?
Yeah, Mithos thinks Yuri has changed! He obviously hasn't been closely acquainted with Yuri the whole time he's been in Aather but it is PRETTY CLEAR from where he stands that this is the case; it's clear Yuri's usually a pretty sociable guy but he's watched Yuri's, hmm, sphere shrink and then grow again? Things like Chariot obviously not feeling close to Yuri anymore and Yuri's sort of isolation with Vincent and Raven having problems with the whole deal . . . but Yuri's now starting to open up some and he's got Guy and Flynn and Lloyd and Mithos himself and other people not leaving him alone and stuff is getting aired and it just generally seems like Yuri is shifting into a healthier place. Mithos is glad to see that :X
As for the tired of Personae talk . . . hmmm. That's one of those things Mithos didn't necessarily like -- I mean, he never likes hearing 'I'm giving up on X' from anyone! But it's also one of those things that's legit, that level of frustration! And even if it's not something he's pleased with, it's Yuri's choice, not his, and it doesn't make Yuri any less his friend or anything. Mithos would yell at Yuri if Yuri had this issue and tried to hide that it was an issue! But he didn't because Yuri has the issue but admitted as much. He just . . . he can deal with his friends having issues like that but he hates them deflecting. Guy got a similar thing where Mithos hissed at him for being liarface for a while; it boiled down to -- "you need liarface to cope and I won't judge that but I will judge you if you try to make like your liarface doesn't exist as a thing." He dddoes hope something happens that jolts Yuri into feeling less static and beat about the whole affair, though.
Their relationship is still generally positive! I don't think a lot has changed so much as what was already there got a bit deeper and more nuanced; Mithos definitely feels very comfortable whether he's talking to Yuri about private stuff or they just fall into the ritual of banterflirting. (This might be different if circumstances had differed a bit and Mithos had seen Yuri's three-year memory because that would've been a huge jolt on a lot of weird levels, but.) Ummm what else -- Mithos is still attracted to him but for him that's pretty background by now; he'd sleep with Yuri if Yuri initiated but it is not really a thing on his mind. What is a bigger thing is that he would be super happy if you joined the Tales party, Yuri Lowell, being partyless sounds lonely and sad.
