FOR MY OWN RECORDS. Because dormancy and I really can't go en entire month without a question meme so I did an impromptu one like a week ago.

Yuri is still... very much feeling out this thing with Raven. It IS weird for him to be so emotionally involved with someone not Vincent, and to have someone not Vincent in his room. He recognizes that his thing with Raven is categorically closer to his thing with Vincent as opposed to his thing with Chariot, but his thing with Vincent is still a lot... more powerful. So in regards to the actual question... Yuri’s only problem with polyamory is a resource problem. He doesn’t want to skimp on what Raven needs/he doesn’t take their relationship (sexual and nonsexual) lightly. But he already gives (and gets) so much from Vincent, and Yuri is still kind of learning how to rely on/need other people. He’s not really very open (With Vincent it is... different. They sort of. Cork-screwed into each other... ) so he is very careful with how he relates to people. But love is a very non-careful thing; it’s a little intimidating, and a very unpredictable element for him. But Yuri is also very bull-headed in how he feels for people so it’s like... fuck it full speed ahead, now that the barrier is broken. He’s not going to go halfway now and if a problem crops up, he’ll deal with it.

Also re: polyamory there is this... thing... with being so rawly desired/needed by Raven. Yuri can't deny anyone in need for anything, so of course he'll try to meet his need with everything he has, but he won't realize/acknowledge the reality/depth of his own need in regard to Raven the way he does with Vincent.

Yuri does not have any kind of concept of Gil as a person. I think he’ll warm up to him pretty easily when they do interact, but right now, for Yuri, Gil is just the person that makes Vincent deny/efface himself so he doesn’t really have a very positive association with him! That said, Yuri would die for Gilbert (Like, IN A GAME...). Because he would die for Vincent and he realizes Vincent would prefer the former to the latter.He knows that the two brothers are very different, and it’s NOT Gil’s fault Vincent is the way he is, but... I can see him getting frustrated with Gil like, will you just GIVE VINCENT A FUCKING BONE. HE LOVES YOU SO GODDAM MUCH. Yeah most of his feelings on Gil circle back to his feelings on Vincent... It hurts (in a vague way) to see Vincent just pour his entire being into Gilbert Gilbert Gilbert and just (apparently) be rewarded so little, though Yuri has only scorched the surface of this...

SUCH HARD QUESTIONS... Seriously I'm sorry if this is small and scattered but really these are both GIANT QUESTIONS for Yuri. It's like a dialouge constantly going on in the bag of his mind, though he's had a lot of foreground stuff going on lately.

I think, barring his relationships, he prefers Aather. he’s not very bound to Terca Lumireis--there’s so much conflict, between classes, between the Guilds and the Empire. There’s a lot of pain and turmoil tied up with Terca Lumireis BUT... he feels obligated to Terca. Its his home; it would be very difficult for him not to go back. But watching Aather grow and flourish due to their efforts... definitely has a sentimental effect for him. But he doesn’t idealize Aather as being this place where the only problems are the Personae. There’s the inequality been the knights, conflict between the teams but it’s Yuri’s nature to look for and address inequality/conflict. That’ll hold no matter WHERE he goes. .. Honestly, it’s very split down the middle. It will be a tough decision for Yuri whether to stay or go. Aather will never be home the way Zaphias is home, but this world that is always changing and surprising is definitely appealing.

Fuck parlors, Yuri goes dancing. He goes to social functions soley to dance and drink. He dances with your mother, your daughter, your sister, and also your brother, father, and husband. He flirts but he doesn’t play favorites . He trolls Vincent when he tries to go after girls but he’s never explicit with Vincent in public nless by invitation. when there isn’t a high-class party going on he hits the slums to dance and ALWAYS tries to get Vincent or Elliot (Or Gilbert?) to go with him (Do he and Vincent ever pick up guys/girls together?). Yuri’s always a gentleman with the ladies but of course he has a reputation as a rascal. There’s always something glaring wrong with what he’s wearing--something unbuttoned, color where there shouldn’t be--and he never wears his hair up. He sporadically climbs through Vincent’s window to bug him, or crawl into bed with him for a nap or an afternoon fuck. He gets into a lot of duels because he can’t keep his mouth shut, and, of course, always wins.

Dino and Yuri hit it off right away in Aather and for a long time they were just dumb boys together doing dumb (but safe. ish) things and occasionally having SUPER CASUAL SEX. They were the most casual, but they also bonded over the fact that they were both discovering they were maybe kind of bad people in their previous lives. It's something that came up once and then they didn't really talk about it, because all Yuri's past life angst got vented to Vincent.

And then Acedia TORE THEIR LOVE APAAAART no I'm kidding. Dino finally told Yuri that someone was trying to kill him BUT he also said that he hadn't told Yuri because he was afraid Yuri would go after and kill the person, and that was just. a huge punch in the feelings for Yuri, who is SO MINDFUL of the fact that he is a killer and he NEVER EVER EVER forgets it, moreso in Aather than in canon because Yuri hasn't been hardened by years of hating the Empire and got all his killing memories completely out of context. So what he heard was basically "You are a bad person and I don't trust you and that's what you deserve." They sort of fake made-up but Yuri still had this giant soul-wound.

So they just kind of avoided each other for a while until Yuri found out Chariot had been hiding some super serious injuries from everyone and really it's better to just read that thread. Basically, Yuri realized he didn't want to be in this relationship of just hiding everything so as not to worry the other, because that's dumb and not a friendship at all. So he decided to go full disclosure and told Dino that he let 'someone' rip him up and they agreed to tell each other when they got hurt or whatever.

Right now they are back to status quo, as far as I know! When all his other relationships are so freaking complicated, Cherry is Yuri's ~rock~, his foundation of casual supportive dumb boy friendship who will carry him to his room and let him nap on him. All of the dere for Cherry.

Does Acedia have a plan for screwing with Chariot or is it more of a... what do I feel like doing today?

Okay well that thread they just had went from A to B to C at like. Breakneck speed.

Raven does tend to top him just by, like, attending to his feelings. Yuri doesn't even attend to his OWN feelings so that's a pretty big gap in his defenses. In the endgame thread Yuri did flinch, in a big way--it's hard for him to just ACCEPT the fact that Raven has the feelings he has for him; he definitely doesn't think he deserves that much feelings and he is sooo nervous of mishandling them. You could say he is thinking too hard about 'What is the best possible thing I could do for Raven' but it's not in an 'obligatory' sense--he wants to make Raven happy because Raven is Raven and important to him, thus why he got so frustrated when Raven was so caught on Yuri 'needing' him or not. His love for Raven is... not romantic per se, but more naively simple.

It stuck with him, what Raven said about it being okay to want or need people for no reason, and that's sort of what he used to push through the rough spot in that thread. Just--he WANTS so firmly and recklessly for things to work out but it feels like every time he steps he falls into a hole. But he will keep climbing out of the hole and trying.

Reverse! And, does Raven know the extent to which Yuri is in a serious relationship with someone else? Does it bother him?

Yuri has lots of... residual tsun for Lloyd and he's not really sure why. He was tripping balls when they had their Serious Talk, after all. But Lloyd gives him vague Flynn pings in that sort of "I'm Lloyd Irving and I do everything right as a function of my existence." Which always makes Yuri feel bitter. He likes him, but his feelings very foggy, like a large storm cloud ready to rain down tsun...

Uh, no. Yuri is done talking about feelings forever. He tried to talk about feelings with Raven and look how THAT turned out. Vincent and he have gotten along just fine by talking via sex, so he isn't gonna fix what ain't broke. He loves where he and Vincent are at right now so he is content to curl up and let them proceed as normal.

When Vincent told Gil he loved Yuri I had this moment of "... Would Yuri use this opportunity to say he loves Vincent, too...?"

"No, fuck no. No no no no."

Maybe their relationship model in unhealthy, but it definitely works for them, as far as Yuri's concerned. They've gotten this far without pushing.

OH, THE TORTURE.

Yuri has been telling himself and other people for a while that he can handle Vincent--this was the real test. They've been skirting around the issue of Vincent's thing with torture/violence and he knew that if he and Vincent were going to BE, it would need to be addressed. He really didn't do it out of altruism (except in the sense that he ALWAYS wants to be there for Vincent); he did it because he needed to know if he could handle Vincent at his worst.

The conclusion was... yeah, I can take this. Throughout that whole session he never lost the sense that it was still just him and Vincent. There was that banter and intimacy and that sense of 'space' Yuri has cultivated with Vincent where they can just COMPLETELY lose their shit and then shrug it off and flip the switch back to normal.

Talk to me about Vincent and misogyny~ Could he ever really fall in love with a woman? WHAT IF YURI WAS GENSWAPPED FOREVEEEER.
